Change Your Look in 30 Seconds

Change Your Look in 30 Seconds

One of the top questions I get asked very often by friends and clients is how can I refresh my look on the quick? I had to sit and think about this one, since I’m a huge fan of the process of getting ready for any event (including work). But let’s be honest. Many of us just don’t have the time to stand in front of a mirror for an hour to get ready every day. So, I put together these 6 quick fixes anyone can do to look refreshed and pulled together in 30 seconds.

1. Volumize the everyday ponytail.

This look works beautifully with second day curls. Begin by teasing a section of hair at the crown to give the ponytail some height. Then, gather all your hair into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic. Smooth with your fingers instead of a brush or comb. This will give you an effortless, messy look.  Fluff the ponytail for added volume and if needed, add a couple of extra curls with a curling iron. Spritz with texturizing spray and scrunch to add extra texture and fullness. Finalize the look by wrapping a section of hair around the ponytail to conceal the elastic.

2. Open up your eyes with mascara.

Nothing makes you looks more refreshed than bright eyes. I never skip this step even if I only have a few minutes to get ready. Apply 2 generous coats of mascara for maximum lash coverage, fullness and length.

3. Add a peach flush to your cheeks.

This is my go-to “quickie” for beautiful looking, healthy skin. Apply a satin finish blush to the apples of the cheeks for a fabulous, fake glow from within. Try Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, $8.49

4. Play up your lips with a bright, bold shade.

This is probably one of the easiest ways to change up your look when you’re pressed for time. Don’t just settle for red. Try bright, beautiful hues like orange or fuchsia. Mascara, eyebrows and a bold lip. Quick, easy and hella sexy.

5. Change your hair part.

If you struggle with flat hair then this trick will be a godsend. When your second day hair is looking flat and greasy, try switching up your part. Start by spraying dry shampoo to your roots to freshen up your locks. Next, flip your hair to the opposite side for instant volume. This changes your overall appearance and extends your blow out an extra day before it’s bun time.

6. Get your eyebrows done.

The brows frame the face, so when they’re not “on point” your whole look can seem disheveled. Whether you like them tweezed, waxed or threaded, always make time to get them shaped. If you suffer from barely there eyebrows simply brush them up, fill them in with a pencil, eyebrow gel or powder and set them with a clear eyebrow gel to keep them in place.
